Dance Health Workshop

In July, our clinic hosted the first dance health workshop. Dancers had the opportunity to learn from a multidisciplinary team, including a Pilates instructor, psychologist, dietitian and physiotherapist. The participants gained valuable knowledge to help them stay healthy, strong and performing at their best.

  • We had Mat Pilates with Serena from SMG artistry. Serena is a qualified Pilates instructor, specialising in sessions for teens and young dancers. She used to be a professional ballet dancer at the QLD ballet.
  • Next was a strategy session with Kylie from Salt Psychology. Kylie is an accredited psychologist, dedicated to the well-being of females at various stages of life. With Kylie, the dancers learnt strategies on coping with anxiety, stress, burnout, and self esteem.
  • We had Zoe presenting dietetics for young women from The Power Project. Zoe is an accredited practicing dietitian and sports dietitian. She works with young dancers to help fuel for health, performance, and happiness. Zoe was a former rhythmic gymnast.
  • And finally, injury prevention and maximising performance with Renee from Artistic Sports Physio. Renee is a physiotherapist who spent most of her career touring with professional performers. She is passionate about preparing young performers for the demands of a career in the arts.
