Clinical Pilates

What is clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is a specialised form of exercise that is tailored to meet your individual needs. It focuses on the quality of your movement, performing exercises using the most optimal movement strategies. This form of exercises is suitable if you wish to work on improving a particular aspect of your physicality. It also suits those with various medical conditions or injuries that limit fitness options.

A session typically involves exercises that focus on improving core strength, flexibility, posture, and overall body awareness under the supervision of a trained physiotherapist. Unlike traditional Pilates, Clinical Pilates incorporates rehabilitation principles and is often used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to help manage pain, improve function, and prevent future injuries. It can be also a great stepping stone to get you back to your sport.

At Artistic Sports Physio, we guide performers through one-on-one Pilates exercises. For a dancer, goals may include increasing turnout, improving hip flexibility or challenging pelvic stability to enhance performance. For a vocalist, breath work incorporated with movement can maximise vocal endurance. Core activation will help with diaphragm function and breath support.

Clinical Pilates are 1:1 and can be booked online here. Or you can contact Artistic Sports Physio for more information.
